flags

Fellow Tiromeds!

You may have noticed the presence of country flags on profiles and our member search area. This has always been a feature we wanted to implement and finally, we went for it. Now you have a nice visual cue as to where your peers and colleagues are arriving from. We hope you enjoy this little but significant addition!

To be sure, the flag implementation comes at a great moment in Tiromed’s evolution. We now have over 55 countries represented on site! Keep in mind all of this influx has been through word of mouth which is pretty spectacular.

Some recent members to join have hailed from Malaysia, Bulgaria, Kenya and Lao People’s Democratic Republic. How did they hear about us? Which new country will be represented next? Will Tiromed unite all nations’ physicians and med students worldwide?

Pri-Med Convention Attention Deficit Disorder (PMCADD)

pri-med

We are just getting back to our senses after an intense trip to the Pri-Med Convention in Anaheim, CA. Pri-Med is “the nation”s leading provider of CME” and conjoins CME lectures with ostentatious industry-advertiser exhibitions.

The lectures included sessions on Contemporary Primary Care Challenges, Women’s Health and On-Stage Video Demonstrations (which addressed everything from common knee problems to “Oh, my aching back!”)

lecture

After lectures, most attendees hit the exhibition floor where they found the extravagant booths of industry companies there to market their medications and products. The exhibition floor is meant to be spectacular. The experience might be described as Disney World meets the Healthcare Industry: companies set up huge spaces in which they compete for attendee attention. The booths are so lavish and grandiose, and the environment so saturated, that Pri-Med Convention Attention Deficit Disorder (PMCADD) may arise if you’re not careful.

exhibitions

We had a great time at Pri-Med; the lectures were well presented and stimulating, and the exhibition floor was replete with fantastic displays. Be sure to check out the where the next Pri-Med Convention will be here.

Oompa Loompa Doopity Doo!

oompa loompa

It’s been an interesting few weeks lately at Tiromed. We have been working on some Willy-Wonka style inventions that we think you are going to like. I can’t exactly say what we’re up to, as that wouldn’t be prudent and would spoil the surprise. However, we are exploring radical conceptual experimentations; one of which involved a top secret trip to our nation’s capital last week . . . hmmmm . . .

capitol

To be sure, a round of applause is in order to the true oompa-loompas of Tiromed: our coders. They’ve got crazy skillz and have been getting jiggy with it of late. We’ll have some cool stuff up shortly!
